Boston Interactive Launches New Website for Appalachian Mountain Club
Boston, MA September 8, 2010— Boston Interactive, a Boston web design and interactive marketing firm, announces the launch of the Appalachian Mountain Club's new website (www.outdoors.org). The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) is a Massachusetts-based nonprofit organization that is dedicated to promoting the protection, enjoyment, and understanding of the mountains, forests, waters, and trails of the Appalachian region. Founded in 1876, AMC is the oldest recreation and conservation organization in the United States. This marks the continuation of Boston Interactive's longstanding relationship with AMC and is the second full-scale website redesign in six years.
Boston Interactive first redesigned the Appalachian Mountain Club website in 2005 to serve as a comprehensive resource for both current and new members. In early 2010 AMC partnered with Boston Interactive again to give the website a refreshed visual design and incorporate new technology. 'We were thrilled to partner with Appalachian Mountain Club again,' says Jim Keller, Vice President of Interactive Services at Boston Interactive. 'The new website is designed to support AMC's worthwhile mission and encourage visitors to become actively involved in both enjoying and protecting the beautiful Appalachian region.'
The new AMC website allows users to plan trips, learn about activities for all ages, find lodging, and access special deals. Those who want to become more involved in AMC can learn about volunteer opportunities, become a member, or donate online. The architecture of the site is based on extensive usability tests conducted by Boston Interactive, ensuring that the site allows visitors to easily locate the information they're seeking. The refreshed visual design also engages users and showcases the beauty of the Appalachian region.
'Our goal is to provide a rich user experience for those planning trips and activities in addition to those visitors looking to protect the region through donations, membership, or volunteer work.' said Chuck Murphy, Founder and CEO of Boston Interactive. 'We're confident that the new website will be highly beneficial to users and help AMC to further its mission.'
