Boston Interactive created this new website in response to a challenge put forth by Earth Fare to create a web presence that turns the retail web world and its online user habits on its head. As a natural foods retailer, Earth Fare's promise is to sell only food and other products that do not contain unnatural ingredients such as growth hormones or high fructose corn syrup which they promote with blunt yet impactful messages such as 'Don't let your snack attack turn into a heart attack!'
With the site's main business goal being to consistently drive customers to an Earth Fare store one more time a week, Boston Interactive created an online environment that promotes repeat traffic through weekly updates of sometimes sobering, sometimes entertaining statements about what you are putting in your body, directly connected to a coupon the user can download and immediately take to the store to pick up a healthier alternative. This strategy is housed within the concept of 'Welcome Home - build yourself a healthier home with Earth Fare', to communicate that healthy eating starts the moment you wake up, and easy alternatives, inspiring stories, and a supportive community are available every step you take.
Within 24 hours the site received dramatic results - 35,000 new accounts were created the first day it was launched. Earth Fare is breaking down the stigma of healthy eating as a pricey, difficult to maintain, high-maintenance way of life.
