The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) is a Massachusetts-based nonprofit organization that is dedicated to promoting the protection, enjoyment, and understanding of the mountains, forests, waters, and trails of the Appalachian region. Founded in 1876, AMC is the oldest recreation and conservation organization in the United States. In early 2010, Boston Interactive partnered with AMC to redesign its website for the second time, giving it a fresh look and feel and utilizing new technology. The new website acts as an easy-to-use resource for visitors interested in planning trips, volunteering, becoming members, or donating to AMC.
